Seeking an experienced Family Violence Practitioner to provide specialist supports women and children seeking saftey and support from violence.

Senior Family Violence Practitioner - Northern Suburbs

Salary - $106,000 - $108,000 + super + salary packaging

Our client is a non-profit organisation that provides short-term intensive support, crisis accommodation and outreach services to family violence victim survivors. They are an intersectional, feminist organisation committed to addressing inequities arising from gender oppression. Family/domestic violence victim survivor services are the primary focus.

About the Role:

As the Senior Family Violence Practitioner, you will deliver refuge and crisis accommodation suppports and provide Outreach Family Violence services in the community. The role will also support and mentor other family violence practitioners/family violence children's specialist workers, family violence support workers, providing regular supervision and offer assistance to staff developing a holistic approach to case- management.

Key Duties:

  • Provide regular supervision and support to Family Violence Practitioners and Family Violence Children's Practitioners.
  • Support, mentor and provide regular supervision to family violence support workers who are rostered for evening, sleep over and weekend shifts.
  • Actively participate in performance appraisals of staff members.
  • Identify and manage risks, reporting all critical incidents.
  • Ensure the collection of monthly SHIP Data Collection by all workers and to upload information monthly.
  • Provide outreach support to victims and survivors of family violence.
  • Deliver intake, complete risk assessment and safety planning in line with the MARAM framework
  • Provide support and information to victim survivors in areas of income, housing, cultural, advocacy, education, health: including mental health, AOD, financial, legal and other issues that may arise and make the appropriate referrals to external services and resources.

Skills and Experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualification's requirements for Family Violence (Bachelor of Social work or eqivalent)
  • Minumum 1-3 years' experience working at senior level
  • Expert knowledge and experience of the issues surrounding family/domestic violence and a commitment to improving the safety of victim survivors in the community
  • Knowledge or training in MARAM framework and Child Safe Standards
  • Knowledge of and personal commitment to gender equity and intersectional practice
