About the Role:
Are you a passionate Primary teacher looking for a unique Specialist Teaching role? Tradewind are currently working with an F-9 school located in Point Cook, Melbourne's West, who are launching a new Primary Specialist teaching role- Wellbeing/Re to fill a teaching position for lower Primary beginning in Term 1, 2025 in a full-time ongoing position. As an integral part of the school community, you'll be joining a school dedicated to fostering academic excellence through their International Baccalaureate Program, providing a globally recognised education system showing dedication to creativity and a lifelong love of learning. The school boasts excellent facilities, with the role beginning immediately within the middle primary classroom.

Key duties:

  • Implement programs and lessons that focus on student wellbeing, covering areas like emotional regulation, resilience, stress management, and self-care.
  • Lead lessons that teach students about respect, empathy, and healthy relationships. This includes educating them about consent, conflict resolution, and gender equality.
  • Encourage positive student interactions and behaviour, teaching students to develop mutual respect, tolerance, and understanding of differences in a diverse society.
  • Identify students who may need extra support with emotional wellbeing or relationships and provide interventions, possibly involving counsellors or external resources.
  • Demonstrate positive communication, empathy, and respectful relationships in your interactions with students, staff, and the wider school community.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Must have VIT registration or are in the process of obtaining this
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia/Placement experience essential
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
