Job Description

About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity is open for a VCE Visual Communication teacher to become part of a fantastic Catholic senior school near Taylor's Hill in Melbourne's West. This position is focused on instructing students in years 11-12, in a full-time or part time, role starting early Term 2. Personal Schools tours are also available for interested teachers.

Key duties:

  • Plan curriculum materials for Visual Communications courses at VCE level, aligning with relevant standards and requirements.
  • Create detailed lesson plans that cover key concepts, skills, and assessments for each unit of study within the Visual Communications curriculum.
  • Facilitate hands-on learning experiences to help students develop their skills in areas such as graphic design, typography, illustration, photography, and digital media production.
  • Design and administer assessments, projects, and exams to evaluate students' understanding and proficiency in visual communication concepts. Providing timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their work.
  • Integrate relevant software tools and technologies into the curriculum to enhance students' digital design and media production skills.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with trends, best practices, and advancements in the field of visual communications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, industry professionals, and community partners to enhance the Visual Communications program and provide real-world learning opportunities for students.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Visual Communication
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
