About the Role:
An enriching opportunity awaits a dedicated VCE Economics teacher at an excellent and truly global Independent School in Melton, situated in Melbourne's West. Commencing in 2025, the contract extends until the year's end, with potential for extension into the new year.

This role involves instructing students in VCE Economics in years 11 and 12, in the most critical years of secondary schooling.

Applicants must be located in Melbourne, with full working rights, VIT registration and VCE experience.

The school, renowned globally with 125 campuses worldwide and a student body of over 9000, prides itself on its innovative approach to education. The Melton Campus, the largest in Victoria, serves local students as well as those from nearby regions such as Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Sunbury, and Werribee. With dedicated learning spaces for both middle Primary and Secondary education, the campus currently accommodates 225 students onsite.

Key duties:

  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans that align with the VCE Economics curriculum, incorporating a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and cater to different learning styles.
  • Deliver clear and effective instruction on economic principles, theories, and real-world applications.
  • Use multimedia tools, case studies, and interactive activities to enhance understanding.
  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, exam preparations and projects.
  • Prepare students for VCE exams, including practice tests and exam technique guidance.
  • Stay updated with the latest economic trends, policies, and educational practices.
  • Work closely with other VCE teachers and staff to coordinate teaching strategies and share best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and VCE requirements.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • VCE Experience essential
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Economics
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
