About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity awaits a passionate Senior Psychology teacher to join a recently established school in Truganina in 2025. With approximately 1200 students spanning years 7 to 10 across two nearby campuses, and the introduction to VCE in 2025, this school offers an exciting chance to continue to shape a dynamic educational environment. Whether you're new to teaching or have years of experience, you'll find a supportive atmosphere here, complete with dedicated learning coaching and top-notch facilities across both campuses. Work with students in years 10-11 in the Senior area, with the introduction of year 12 in 2026.

Key duties:

  • Create and deliver engaging, evidence-based Psychology lessons that align with the VCE Psychology Study Design, catering to students in Senior Years.
  • Teach topics like research methods, brain function, mental health, and human development, ensuring students grasp key psychological theories and applications.
  • Guide students in applying psychological theories to real-life scenarios and conducting small-scale psychological research.
  • Design assessments, including tests, assignments, and School-Assessed Coursework (SACs), that align with the VCAA standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay current with the latest psychological research and teaching practices.
  • Work with colleagues to develop shared resources, refine teaching practices, and ensure consistency in curriculum delivery.
  • Foster a classroom that promotes curiosity, respect, and inclusivity, supporting diverse learning needs.
  • Use innovative strategies to sustain student interest in complex psychological topics.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching senior secondary Psychology
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
