About the Role:
An excellent opportunity awaits a VCE Health and Physical Education teacher to join a Senior school in Caroline Springs, located in Melbourne's West. This full-time, ongoing role is dedicated to guiding students in years 10-11, commencing in Term 3 with a smooth transition in Term 2. Join a senior College dedicated to fostering the academic and personal growth of senior students within a nurturing and supportive teaching and learning atmosphere.
Key duties:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging curriculum for VCE HHD and PE courses, ensuring alignment with VCE standards and objectives.
- Design and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, integrating theory, practical activities, and real-world applications.
- Provide instruction in key concepts, theories, and practical skills related to health, human development, physical fitness, and sports performance.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding, progress, and achievement in line with VCE assessment criteria.
- Organize and supervise practical activities, excursions, and events related to HHD and PE, such as fitness assessments, skill development sessions, and sports competitions.
- Stay updated on current research, trends, and best practices in health education, human development, physical fitness, and sports science through professional development activities
Skills & Experience:
- Must have full Australian working rights
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Hold current VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Health and PE
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
Offering:
- Commencing as a full-time, ongoing position starting from Term 3 with handover given end of Term 2
- Instructing VCE students in years 10 - 11 in Health and PE
