About the Role:

The role aims to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, youth, families, and individuals in Melbourne through early intervention, out-of-home care, and asylum seeker support programs. As a senior leader, you will contribute to strategic planning, innovative practices, and stakeholder engagement while promoting service excellence and partnerships

Key Duties:

  • Lead, manage, and motivate teams to foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan, develop, and monitor service delivery in alignment with legislative, government, and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee Family Services & Family Violence response programs and service delivery to align with strategic objectives.
  • Lead the implementation of innovative programs and service offerings.
  • Deliver accountable and professional services adhering to legal and safety standards.
  • Provide regular clinical supervision and reflective practice for self and team.
  • Create and manage team and program budgets to meet business requirements, where required; aid in tender writing.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations and standards, including risk assessment frameworks.

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or other relevant Human Services qualification and/or experience
  • Experienced people manager and leader, minimum 3 years managing a large team within the sector
  • Sophisticated understanding of child protection, out-of-home care, family violence, and family support services, with the ability to address the complexities of statutory client services.
  • Proficient people manager with the ability to supervise, coach, and develop staff, fostering high-performing teams to deliver on organizational objectives.
  • Strong strategic leadership and business development skills, including the ability to think creatively and implement innovative solutions to enhance program and client outcomes.
  • Demonstrated initiative and accountability in leadership, taking a self-starting approach and maintaining responsibility for actions.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, business leaders, and local networks, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication skills, including influencing, negotiation, persuasion, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on impactful written and verbal communication.

You will also need to be willing to provide 2x professional references + undergo a Working with Children Check and Police Check.
