About the Role:
Is Senior Biology your teaching passion? A committed Senior Biology teacher is needed to join an accredited International Baccalaureate, Islamic school in Tarneit, offering a flexible start from later this term. The role involves teaching students in years 10 -12 in a supportive and highly professional teaching and learning environment.
Serving approximately 1600 students from years P-12, this exceptional school welcomes both graduates and experienced teachers. With a strong emphasis on maintaining excellent student behaviour and fostering a supportive environment, teachers of any faith are warmly welcomed
Key duties:
- Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive biology curricula in accordance with the VCAA (Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority) guidelines and designing lesson plans that cover all aspects of the VCE Biology study design, including Units 1-4.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, laboratory experiments, group work, and multimedia resources, to engage students and enhance their understanding.
- Help students develop their scientific skills, including hypothesis formulation, experimentation, data analysis, and critical thinking and eencourage curiosity, scientific inquiry, and a passion for biology.
- Manage and organize biology resources, including laboratory equipment, specimens, and materials and ensure the biology laboratory is maintained and utilized effectively.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have full Australian working rights
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Hold current VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Biology highly desirable
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

- Commencing as a full-time position starting in late Term 3 until the end of the year with possible 2025 opportunities
