About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has opened for a dedicated VCE General Mathematics and Maths Methods (Units 3 & 4) teacher to join a respected Catholic senior school near Taylor's Hill in Melbourne's West. This full-time, ongoing role commences in Term 1, 2025, focusing on guiding and supporting Year 12 students through their final and most pivotal year of secondary education. Be part of a community-centred school that emphasizes academic excellence, holistic development, and meaningful teacher-student connections during these crucial learning stages.

Key duties:

  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the VCE curriculum, focusing on both Mathematical Methods and General Mathematics.
  • Demonstrate a strong command of mathematical concepts to teach complex topics such as calculus, probability, algebra, and functions (Maths Methods) and statistics, financial math, and data analysis (General Maths).
  • Develop, administer, and mark assessments in accordance with VCAA standards, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Provide support and motivation to students, offering additional assistance as needed for exam preparation and coursework.
  • Work closely with other teachers, faculty members, and school leadership to enhance curriculum delivery and participate in departmental planning and meetings.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay updated with current educational practices and developments in the VCE curriculum.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching minimum year 11 General/Methods (VCE or equiv. in AU) in Vic/Australia
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
