About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity awaits a passionate Science teacher to join a recently established school in Truganina in 2025. With approximately 1200 students spanning years 7 to 10 across two nearby campuses, and the introduction to VCE in 2025, this school offers an exciting chance to continue to shape a dynamic educational environment. Whether you're new to teaching or have years of experience, you'll find a supportive atmosphere here, complete with dedicated learning coaching and top-notch facilities across both campuses. Work with students in years 7-10 with VCE opportunities in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in the following year.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum aligned with educational standards and guidelines, covering various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science under the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities.
  • Manage laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment for conducting experiments and investigations. Teach students proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and ethical practices in scientific research.
  • Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and mastery of scientific concepts and skills
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in science education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and technology integration. Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to science teaching.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching secondary Science- all year levels welcome
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
