About the Role:
An enriching role awaits a passionate Science teacher at a renowned Independent School in Melton, located in Melbourne's West. Starting this term, the contract runs through to the end of the year, with the possibility of extension into the next academic year.
This position involves teaching engaging Science lessons to students in Years 7-10, fostering curiosity and critical thinking in one of the most pivotal stages of education.
Applicants must currently reside in Melbourne and hold full working rights, VIT registration, and relevant teaching experience.

Key duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum aligned with educational standards and guidelines, covering various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science under the Victorian Curriculum.
- Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities.
- Manage laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and organised environment for conducting experiments and investigations. Teach students proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and ethical practices in scientific research.
- Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and mastery of scientific concepts and skills
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in science education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and technology integration. Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to science teaching.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Minimum 4 year Bachelors Degree with at least 1 year teaching qualification
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Science in Australia
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
