About the Role:
Are you passionate about teaching the Quran in a school setting? An incredible opportunity awaits at a highly regarded International Baccalaureate (IB) Islamic school in Tarneit. This dynamic learning community, catering to approximately 1600 students from Primary to Secondary (P-12), is seeking dedicated educators to teach the Quran and inspire students in their spiritual and academic journeys.

Key duties:
- In-depth understanding of the Quran, Hadith, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), that align with the Victorian Curriculum (or VCE/VPC, if applicable)
- Adhere to Islamic principles Proficiency in Quranic recitation with proper Tajweed rules to model accurate reading for students
- Demonstrating understanding and care for students' spiritual growth and personal challenges
- Exemplify Islamic principles and values through conduct and teaching style
- Explain the meanings and context of Quranic verses and relate lessons from the Quran to contemporary issues and students' lives
- Incorporate modern teaching aids and strategies to enhance understanding and interest
- Foster a love for learning about the Quran and Islamic studies and encourage participation in Islamic activities such as school prayers, celebrations of Islamic holidays, and charity drives
- Work closely with other educators, school leadership, and community leaders to promote a cohesive Islamic educational experience
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Hold relevant qualifications in Education (4 year bachelor Degree containing minimum 1 year teaching qualifications)
- Current VIT registration required
- Willingness to support the school's ethos and Islamic faith values
- Proven experience teaching Islamic Studies/Quran in a school setting
- Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years, including at least one from upper management
