About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a committed Junior Secondary Maths and Science teacher to join a welcoming school in Caroline Springs, Melbourne's West, starting Term 1, 2025. This full-time, permanent role is perfect for educators at any stage of their career, from eager new graduates to experienced teaching professionals. The position involves teaching Maths and Science to students in Years 7-9, fostering curiosity and critical thinking during these pivotal learning years. Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
  • Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration is essential
  • Proven experience teaching secondary Maths/Science in Australia
  • Graduates are welcome to apply and will be supported
  • Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
