About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a passionate Maths & Science teacher to join a growing secondary school in Truganina in 2025. With 1,200 students across two campuses (Years 7-10) and VCE expansion in 2025, this role offers the chance to shape a dynamic learning environment. Whether you're a new graduate or experienced educator, you'll benefit from strong support, dedicated coaching, and excellent facilities while teaching Years 7-10 Maths & Science, with potential VCE opportunities in the future.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
  • Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching secondary Maths/Science- all year levels welcome
  • Graduates welcome to apply and will be supported
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
