About the Role:
An enriching role awaits a passionate Mathematics teacher at a renowned Independent School in Melton, located in Melbourne's West. Starting this from now with flexibility, the contract runs through to the end of the year, with the possibility of extension into the next academic year.

This position involves teaching engaging General Maths lessons to students in Years 8-11, fostering curiosity and critical thinking in one of the most pivotal stages of education.

Applicants must currently reside in Melbourne and hold full working rights, VIT registration, and relevant teaching experience.

The school, a global institution with 125 campuses worldwide and a student body of over 9,000, is celebrated for its innovative educational approach. The Melton campus, the largest in Victoria, serves 225 students onsite, catering to families from local and regional areas, including Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, and Sunbury. With specialized learning spaces for Middle and Secondary students, the school provides an excellent environment for both teaching and learning.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum, including VCE,
  • Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.
  • Engage with students remotely
  • Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development.
  • Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Minimum 4 year Bachelors Degree with at least 1 year teaching qualification
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Mathematics in Australia
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
