Inspiring Opportunity for a Junior Secondary Maths & Science Teacher - Catholic Co-Ed School in Melbourne's Outer East

An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated and passionate Junior Secondary Maths and Science teacher at a welcoming Catholic co-educational school located in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs.

This full-time position is open to both graduate and experienced teachers who are eager to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning in their students. You'll be teaching across the Maths and Science curriculum at junior secondary levels, helping to shape young minds during a key stage of their educational journey.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum
  • Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.
  • Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development.
  • Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration is essential
  • Proven experience teaching secondary Maths and Science in Australia
  • Commitment to supporting the Catholic Ethos of the school
  • Graduates are welcome to apply and will be supported
  • Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)

  • Salary aligned with demonstrated expertise, ranging from $78,000 to $116,000
