About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity is available for a dedicated Japanese LOTE teacher to become part of a community-oriented school in Williamstown/Altona from Term 1, 2025 in a part-time capacity (0.6- 3 days a week)
With approximately 1000 students spanning from Foundation to Year 12 across three campuses, this school offers an excellent chance to be part of a vibrant educational community. Whether you're a graduate or an experienced teacher, the school provides support, including learning coaching, and offers access to exceptional resources.
Key duties:
- Develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for Secondary levels.
- Deliver effective and interactive Japanese LOTE instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
- Introduce aspects of Japanese culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
- Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students
- Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate Japanese language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
- Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Japanese LOTE
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

- Receiving a salary commensurate with your demonstrated expertise, within the range of $75,000 to $115,000 (FT)
