About the Role:
Are you looking for a Leadership position in 2025? Tradewind are proud to be assisting a well-respected Catholic Secondary school starting in 2025 in Melbourne's West region in a full-time opportunity. This pivotal role focuses on promoting student well-being, academic success, and spiritual growth, including pastoral care, monitoring progress, enforcing discipline, and fostering collaboration among teachers, leadership, and parents. This role also involves classroom teaching with any methods welcomed. The school maintains a close-knit, supportive environment nestled in peaceful gardens and boasts an excellent teacher and student learning culture.
Key duties:
- Implement explicit instructional practice.
- Identify and implement strategies, support and liaise with relevant staff to improve student learning outcomes and social emotional wellbeing.
- Promote and celebrate College Growth Habits for students.
- Monitor and utilise data and liaise with stakeholders to support and track the learning journey of students
- Develop and lead a case management approach to support students with complex wellbeing, learning and behavioural issues and where necessary.
- Collaborate with all House Leaders, Director - Student Services, and with other stakeholders as required, on the development and delivery of the patrols Program.
- Promote and support College policies and expectations with the school community in relation to uniform, attendance, completion of learning tasks and assessments.
- Actively promote the growth and development of a caring and Gospel based Catholic identity and House Spirit through prayer, liturgy and Mass.
- Hold regular student lead House assemblies to promote spirit, Catholic identity and a sense of belonging Foster House identity that builds positive
- Act as a Child Safety Officer and liaise with others in Leadership positions within the College in relation to child safety and protection
- Develop strong collaborative teams aligned with the vision, mission and strategic plan of the College
- Be an active member of the Wellbeing forum
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Hold a valid VIT registration
- Leadership experience within a Catholic Secondary School setting in Australia
- Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification, with further study an advantage
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years from upper management
- An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system
