Calling all VCE English teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity! With flexibility to start either this year or in the new year, this full-time role comes with ongoing opportunities.

Key duties:
- Designing and delivering lessons that align with the VCE English curriculum including teaching key concepts, texts, and skills prescribed for years 7-12.
- Selecting appropriate texts, including novels, plays, poetry, and non-fiction, for study based on VCAA guidelines.
- Teaching students how to critically analyse these texts, including exploring themes, characters, literary techniques, and socio-cultural contexts.
- Teaching students how to write analytical essays, including structuring arguments, incorporating textual evidence, and developing critical interpretations. Providing guidance on essay planning, drafting, and revision.
- Instructing students in the analysis of language use in a variety of texts, including media articles, speeches, and advertisements
- Facilitating class discussions, debates, and oral presentations to develop students' oral communication skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Planning and implementing strategies to prepare students for (VCE) English examinations, including the end-of-year exams up to (Units 3-4).
- Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborating with colleagues, including other (VCE) English teachers and faculty members, to share resources, strategies, and best practices for teaching (VCE) English effectively.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Hold relevant qualifications in Education (4 year bachelor Degree containing minimum 1 year teaching qualifications)
- Current VIT registration required
- Willingness to support the school's ethos and Islamic faith values
- Proven experience teaching English in an Australian school setting, VCE experience highly regarded
- Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years, including at least one from upper management
