Position Overview:
The Rehabilitation and Workers Compensation Officer will play a critical role in overseeing the rehabilitation process for injured employees and managing workers' compensation claims. This position involves working closely with employees, medical professionals, insurance providers, and management to ensure that injured workers receive timely, appropriate care and support while adhering to legal and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the workers' compensation claims process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation plans in collaboration with healthcare providers, including physical therapy, counseling, and other treatments.
  • Act as a liaison between injured employees, insurance providers, medical teams, and management.
  • Ensure timely reporting and documentation of all claims and rehabilitation progress.
  • Provide ongoing support to employees throughout their recovery process, offering advice, resources, and assistance as needed.
  • Track and monitor the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs, making adjustments as necessary to optimize recovery outcomes.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of workers' compensation laws and insurance policies, keeping up to date with any changes in legislation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of workplace health and safety programs to minimize the risk of workplace injuries.
  • Analyze trends in workers' compensation claims and recommend strategies for improvement or cost reduction.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health, Workers' Compensation, Rehabilitation, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in managing workers' compensation claims, rehabilitation programs, or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation legislation and insurance processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Compassionate, patient, and able to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for claim management and documentation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in a corporate or large organizational environment.
  • Knowledge of return-to-work programs and workplace rehabilitation strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
