About the Role:
An excellent part-time opportunity is available for a compassionate and dedicated primary teacher to join a close-knit Catholic school community in Melbourne's West. With a flexible start this term, this role involves working within a small team in the junior area, either full time or 4 days per week. The school offers modern classrooms, expansive grounds and a supportive environment focused on collaboration and collegial planning. This position is perfect for a teacher passionate about making a positive impact on student outcomes and well-being, within a nurturing and well-resourced setting.
Key Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
- Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
- Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
- Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.
Skills & Experience:
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- At least 4 year Bachelor with Education qualifications of at least 1 year
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
- An understanding and support of Catholic values
