About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated and passionate Lower Primary Teacher to join a Christian-focused school in Taylors Hill, located in Melbourne's West, starting in Term 1, 2025. This role involves teaching students in a nurturing and engaging environment, fostering foundational learning and holistic growth.
This well-regarded Christian school serves approximately 1,300 students from Foundation to Year 12 across two campuses. Known for its supportive community, excellent student behaviour, and commitment to values-based education, the school offers access to abundant teaching resources, professional learning opportunities, and a collaborative team culture dedicated to student success.
Key duties:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian Curriculum and reflect Christian values and principles.
- Establish a positive, nurturing classroom environment that promotes respect, kindness, and student engagement while effectively managing behaviour.
- Design assessments to evaluate students' understanding, providing constructive feedback to support growth and achievement.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of all learners, offering additional support where required, including for students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and shared success.
- Actively participate in school-wide initiatives, team meetings, and professional development aligned with the school's mission.
- Teach and integrate Christian teachings, Scripture, and values across the curriculum, fostering spiritual growth and a Christ-centred worldview.
- Guide students in developing a personal relationship with Christ and understanding how faith shapes their actions and service to the community.
- Promote inclusivity and respect for all students, ensuring a supportive, compassionate approach to faith exploration and personal development.
Skills & Experience:
- Possess relevant qualifications in Education.
- Hold a valid and up-to-date VIT (Victorian Institute of Teaching) registration.
- Have full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Demonstrate proven experience teaching Primary in Australia
- Experience in Christian or Catholic school environments is highly desirable
- Provide contact details for two recent, education-based referees (within the last five years)
Offering:
- Start in Semester 1, 2025, in a full-time, permanent position
- Work within a small, experienced teaching team of three
- Teach students in the lower Primary years
- Be involved in teaching Bible studies; conducting prayers and attending chapel on a regular basis
- Receive a competitive salary based on your experience, ranging from $78,000 to $116,000
