Job Description

Join a vibrant co-educational state primary school in Blackburn as a dedicated Primary Teacher, starting a full-time role in Term 1, 2025. As a valued member of our teaching team, you will create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth for every student. Your role will include developing engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of our students, using innovative teaching strategies to inspire curiosity and a love of learning.

Key duties

  • Crafting and presenting lessons that captivate young minds, ensuring they align with curriculum standards and cater to individual student needs.
  • Evaluating student progress through diverse assessment methods, including tests, projects, and observations, offering valuable feedback to support their educational journey.
  • Establishing a positive classroom environment characterized by respect and inclusivity, effectively managing behaviour to create a conducive space for learning.
  • Tailoring instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.
  • Maintaining regular and transparent communication with parents or guardians, sharing updates on student performance and collaborating on strategies for enhanced learning.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional growth, collaborating with peers to exchange ideas and resources, and contributing to a supportive school community.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate at least two years previous experience as a primary teacher
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
