The Role:

This full-time role, flexible for an immediate start, spans middle to upper primary, allowing you to bring your expertise in differentiated learning into a supportive and collaborative environment. Key duties:
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans for students with special needs, in collaboration with other educators, parents, and specialists.
- Providing differentiated instruction and support to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities, including those with learning difficulties, developmental delays, and behavioural challenges.
- Conducting ongoing assessments to monitor students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals (such as psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists) to ensure coordinated support for students with special needs.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices, evidence-based interventions, and relevant legislation and policies.
- Managing caseloads of students with special needs, including maintaining accurate records, tracking progress, and participating in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
- Previous experience working with vulnerable students is advantageous but not essential, training can be provided

- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
