Job Description

The Role:

Tradewind is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics teacher to join a well-regarded independent grammar school in Melbourne's West, teaching students across Years 5 to 10. This co-educational institution is known for its strong commitment to academic excellence, holistic student development, and fostering a love for learning.

In this role, you'll work with upper Primary students to develop foundational numeracy skills and guide secondary students in Years 7-10, creating engaging lessons that inspire mathematical thinking and problem-solving. Key Duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum
  • Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.
  • Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development.
  • Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Teaching Qualifications
  • Current VIT registration
  • Experience in teaching Secondary Maths in Australia essential
  • Preparedness to teach upper Primary Mathematics in addition to secondary students from years 7-10
  • Ability to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years
