About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity awaits a passionate Primary PE teacher for 2025 at a close-knit Primary School in Werribee. Lead PE classes for students across F-6 in a full time, ongoing role. The school offers small classes of under 22 students in straight year levels with dedicated Learning Support Officers in every class. Exceptional support for new and graduate teachers, including a full day each week for planning and coaching. Key duties:
- Design and implement a curriculum that encourages physical fitness, motor skills development, and overall health within the Victorian Curriculum
- Lead students in various physical activities, sports, and exercises to enhance their cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and coordination
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to help students improve their individual and team-based skills
- Instil values of sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork through organized sports and group activities
- Use various assessment methods to gauge individual and group performance, providing feedback for improvement
- Create an inclusive environment that accommodates students with different abilities and learning styles.
- Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring everyone can participate and experience success
- Ensure a safe and secure environment during physical activities, implementing proper safety protocols
Skills & Experience:
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
- Demonstrate previous experience in Primary PE in Australia or on student placement
- Graduates welcome to apply and will be supported comprehensively
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
Offering:
- Commencing in Term 1, 2025 in a full time, ongoing role
- Working within a small specialist team
- Small class sizes of between 17-22 students
- Work with students across all year levels F-6
- One full day off of teaching for Graduates to learn, be coached and work on VIT Inquiry project
- Salary commensurate with demonstrated expertise and time commitment
