About the Role:
A great opportunity has opened for a Primary PE teacher to join a welcoming P-9 school community in Truganina, starting in Term 1, 2025. This role involves working closely with the Sport/Specialist faculty, teaching PE to students in Years F-6. The school is renowned for its approachable leadership and commitment to creating a nurturing environment that equips students with essential life skills. With a focus on Indigenous Cultural Inclusion, these elements are thoughtfully woven into the curriculum. Graduates and those with permission to teach are encouraged to apply, with extensive support available for all new staff
Key duties:
- Design and implement a curriculum that encourages physical fitness, motor skills development, and overall health within the Victorian Curriculum
- Lead students in various physical activities, sports, and exercises to enhance their cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and coordination
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to help students improve their individual and team-based skills
- Instil values of sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork through organized sports and group activities
- Use various assessment methods to gauge individual and group performance, providing feedback for improvement
- Create an inclusive environment that accommodates students with different abilities and learning styles.
- Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring everyone can participate and experience success
- Ensure a safe and secure environment during physical activities, implementing proper safety protocols
Skills & Experience:
- Full Australian Working rights
- Minimum 4 year Bachelors Degree with at least 1 year teaching qualification
- Current VIT registration or working towards this
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Teaching experience in a Primary/Secondary school in Australia
- Ability to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
