About the Role:
An exciting opening beckons a Primary Music teacher to become part of a flourishing and supportive catholic Primary School in Melbourne's West, in 2025 in a full time/part time 0.8 role. This collaborative school is in search of a passionate and imaginative music educator to foster a deep appreciation for music. Key duties:
- Plan, develop and deliver engaging music lessons to Primary students, including teaching music theory, history and practical music skills
- Align music lessons with the school's curriculum and educational standards. Design and review age-appropriate music programs and materials.
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment in the music classroom.
- Work closely with other teachers and staff to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects and school events.
- Stay current with the latest music education trends and techniques. Attend workshops, training, and conferences to enhance teaching skills.
- Foster an appreciation for different styles of music, composers, and cultures. Expose students to a variety of musical genres.
- Show proficiency in teamwork, strategic thinking, innovative planning, and embody the ethos and mission of the school.
Offering:
- A full-time/0.8, ongoing role starting in 2025
- Join a small community minded Catholic Primary School
- Instructing students across the entire primary grade range, from Foundation to 6
- Interacting with approachable and transparent leadership, including dedicated Learning coaches and mentors
- Receiving a salary commensurate with your demonstrated expertise, ranging from $75,000 to $115,000
Skills & Experience:
- Completed a minimum 4 year Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year teaching qualification
- Hold a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Previous experience in Primary music teaching
- Ability to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
