Job Description

A prestigious all-girls primary school in Glen Iris is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher for a full-time position in Term 1, with all lesson planning already completed. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging art lessons to primary students, focusing on fostering creativity, artistic skills, and self-expression. While the planning is in place, the teacher will still be responsible for adapting lessons to suit student needs and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment. The Art Teacher will also support school-wide art initiatives and extracurricular activities during the term. Collaboration with staff, students, and the school community to promote a vibrant learning environment is essential.

Key Duties

  • Deliver engaging art lessons based on pre-prepared plans aligned with the Victorian Curriculum standards.
  • Teach a variety of art techniques, including drawing, painting, and sculpture.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs and promote inclusivity.
  • Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a positive and inspiring learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school art initiatives during Term 1.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience as an PE Teacher - Graduates are welcome to apply too!
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
