Placement Coordinator - Master of Social Work (Qualifying)
Our Client
Our client are looking for a placement coordinator to manage the placement program for their Master of Social Work (Qualifying) course due to start in Semester 1 from the 10th March 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate field placements and ensure alignment with AASW standards and ASWEAS requirements.
- Collaborate with community partners to provide diverse, high-quality placement opportunities.
- Provide support, training, and supervision for students and stakeholders throughout the placement process.
Job Description
Key Duties
- Develop and maintain the field education curriculum to meet AASW accreditation standards.
- Oversee all aspects of the placement program, including securing diverse placement opportunities and conducting student assessments.
- Provide induction, guidance, and ongoing support to students throughout their field placement experience.
- Collaborate with placement educators and community partners to ensure program quality and compliance with AASW requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the field education program, implementing improvements based on stakeholder feedback and best practices.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- A higher education degree in Social Work.
- Eligibility or active membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Professional experience in social work, with an understanding of AASW and ASWEAS standards.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to guide students in selecting and navigating field placements.
Desirable:
- Continued professional development in social work education or placement practices.
- Experience participating in workshops, training, or conferences relevant to field education.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
