Placement Coordinator - Master of Social Work (Qualifying)

Our Client

Our client are looking for a placement coordinator to manage the placement program for their Master of Social Work (Qualifying) course due to start in Semester 1 from the 10th March 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field placements and ensure alignment with AASW standards and ASWEAS requirements.
  • Collaborate with community partners to provide diverse, high-quality placement opportunities.
  • Provide support, training, and supervision for students and stakeholders throughout the placement process.

Key Duties

  • Develop and maintain the field education curriculum to meet AASW accreditation standards.
  • Oversee all aspects of the placement program, including securing diverse placement opportunities and conducting student assessments.
  • Provide induction, guidance, and ongoing support to students throughout their field placement experience.
  • Collaborate with placement educators and community partners to ensure program quality and compliance with AASW requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the field education program, implementing improvements based on stakeholder feedback and best practices.


Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • A higher education degree in Social Work.
  • Eligibility or active membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Professional experience in social work, with an understanding of AASW and ASWEAS standards.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to guide students in selecting and navigating field placements.

Desirable:

  • Continued professional development in social work education or placement practices.
  • Experience participating in workshops, training, or conferences relevant to field education.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
