The Role:

Tradewind is collaborating with a Catholic school in Sunbury to offer a full-time Physics teaching position, or a combination of Physics and other subjects, starting in 2025 for students in Years 7-12. Key Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.
- Incorporate a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, practical experiments, demonstrations, and interactive activities to cater to different learning styles.
- Supervise and guide students during laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and resources, organizing practical sessions that reinforce theoretical concepts and update laboratory experiments and activities that align with the curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Design and administer assessments such as quizzes, exams (including VCE preparation), and lab reports to evaluate student understanding and provide timely feedback.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, staying updated on the latest educational practices, curriculum changes, and advancements in Physics.
- Incorporate real-world applications of Physics to make the subject matter relevant and engaging for students.
- Lead or support extracurricular activities related to science, such as a science club, robotics team, or participation in science fairs.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Hold a valid VIT registration
- CECV Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School (or working towards)- school can support this
- Experience in Physics advantageous- graduates welcome to apply
- Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification, with further study an advantage
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years from upper management
- An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system
