About the Role:

Calling all committed Primary Performing Arts teachers! Tradewind is partnering with a small Catholic Primary School in Hoppers Crossing to provide an exceptional Performing Arts opportunity starting from now and extending into 2025. This role entails a 4-5 day teaching position as part of the specialist team, with a contract starting in this term and continuing until the end of the year and into 2025. You'll have the chance to work with students from Foundation to year 6, with dedicated planning time alongside other specialist teachers at the school.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive performing arts curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum standards.
  • Design lesson plans that incorporate a variety of performing arts disciplines, including music, drama, and dance.
  • Teach students the fundamentals of performing arts, techniques, and practical skills.
  • Assess student performance through observations, assignments, and practical exams and provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and understanding.
  • Organise and direct school performances, concerts, and drama productions and collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate performing arts into school events and programs.
  • Maintain and organise performing arts resources, including instruments, costumes, and props and manage the budget for the performing arts program and make recommendations for resource acquisition.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia with Performing Arts favourable
  • Experience working with a Catholic school advantageous
  • Ability to provide contact details for two-three education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

  • Salary ranging from $78,000-$116,000 based on proven experience
