Job Description
A well-regarded primary school in Mulgrave is seeking a passionate and dynamic Physical Education Teacher to join their team for a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position starting in Term 1. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage primary students in developing their physical skills, teamwork, and a lifelong love for health and fitness.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a comprehensive Physical Education program tailored to primary-aged students. Key duties include creating interactive and inclusive lesson plans, organizing and supervising sports activities, and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.
- Teach fundamental movement skills, sports techniques, and promote teamwork.
- Assess student progress through various methods and provide constructive feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and the wider school community to support student well-being and development.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Health and PE - Graduates are welcome to apply too
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
