About the Role:
Are you a dedicated PE teacher seeking a fresh opportunity? A reputable F-9 school in Tarneit, nestled in Melbourne's Western suburbs, is seeking a passionate PE/Health teacher to join in a full-time capacity, in a welcoming and supportive teaching and learning environment in 2025. With approximately 1000 students spanning from years F-9, this role offers integration into a dynamic school community.

Key duties:

  • Designing and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Providing clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises.
  • Teach a range of topic related to physical education including health and well-being, nutrition, mental health and personal development.
  • Conducting physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
  • Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.
  • Organizing and maintaining PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
  • Integrating health education components into PE lessons to promote students' understanding of health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and the benefits of physical activity.
  • Assessing students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.

Skills & Experience:

  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching PE in Australia
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
