About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, caring and committed Early Childhood Teacher in a highly regarded Lutheran Early Learning Centre and Junior School. The successful applicant would work closely with another experienced Early Childhood teacher, and collaboratively with an Early Years Team including The Early Years Co-ordinator, two Foundation Teachers and several Early Childhood Workers.
The Playgroup, ELC and Foundation classes are Reggio inspired and play-based, with a focus on environment, inquiry and nature play. The ELC provides long day care from age 3-5, including a Holiday programme and uniquely shares a playground with the Foundation class. As part of the College Junior School, the Early Years cluster (Playgroup, ELC and Foundation class) will enact the Junior School's Vision, Values and Pedagogical approach.
Key duties:
- Support learning activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Provide assistance and care for children in the centre, including infants aged 0-2 years.
- Assist in delivering an inter-generational program.
- Assess and provide feedback on student progress as needed.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive environment throughout the centre.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for infants, fostering their learning and growth.
- Foster strong relationships with children and families, encouraging open communication.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment that promotes infants' well-being.
- Document children's progress and development for individualized support.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to deliver high-quality early childhood education and care.
Skills & Experience:
- An ACECQA approved Early Childhood teaching degree.
- Current SA Teacher Registration, Working with Children Check, RRHAN Training
- High level of knowledge of the Early Years Learning and National Quality Framework including experience with the Assessment and Rating process
- Understanding of the aims, objectives and current trends in Early Years education
- Understanding of and experience in implementing the IB Primary Years Programme
- Current approved first aid qualification approved by the Education and Care Services National Regulation
- Teacher Accreditation in Lutheran Schools Australia. (Training may commence upon appointment)
- Valuing Safe Communities training or willingness to complete upon appointment
- IT Competency
- Experience as a successful Early Childhood teacher
