Rate: AU$78,021 - AU$115,737 per annum + super

About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated P-12 Teacher to join the team at a Special Developmental School near Glenroy, starting Term 1 for an ongoing role. In this position, you will deliver tailored educational programs to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning experience for each child. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual educational plans (IEPs). While experience in special education is not essential, a commitment to fostering student growth and independence is crucial.
Key Duties:
- Building Supportive Relationships: Establish strong, supportive connections with students, fostering their confidence and independence.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teaching assistants and specialists, regularly communicating with parents regarding student progress.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment, implementing behaviour management strategies.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and workshops to enhance teaching practices in special education.
- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and adapt individualized lesson plans to cater to diverse student needs using varied teaching methods.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Completed Bachelors of Education/Masters of Education/PGCE
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Ability to provide two education-based references from within the last five years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
Desired:
- Special Education Qualification desired
- Previous experience teaching in special education or working with students with diverse learning needs
