About the Role:
A rewarding opportunity awaits a committed Secondary Music teacher to join our dynamic community at an F-9 school in Truganina, nestled in Melbourne's West. This full-time, permanent position is available from Term 4 or Term 1, 2025, welcoming both fresh graduates and seasoned educators alike. The role is a mixture of Music and Theory, working closely with other teachers in the Arts faculty- Performing Arts, Media teachers.

Key Duties
- Planning and delivering engaging music lessons that cater to the needs and interests of students
- Creating or following the Victorian curriculum that aligns with educational standards and objectives, incorporating elements such as music theory, history, performance skills, and appreciation.
- Teaching students how to play various musical instruments, such as the piano, guitar, recorder, or drums, depending on available resources and student interests.
- Introducing students to music theory concepts such as rhythm, melody, harmony, notation, and scales, in age-appropriate ways.
- Fostering an appreciation for different styles and genres of music through listening activities, discussions, and exposure to a diverse range of musical works.
- Organizing and facilitating opportunities for students to showcase their musical talents through concerts or school performances.
- Assessing students' progress and understanding through various means, such as performance evaluations, written assignments, and practical assessments.
- Continuously engaging in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in music education and to enhance teaching skills.
- Managing musical instruments, resources, and materials effectively to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary Music, advantageous
- Graduates welcome to apply and will be supported
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
