Job Description
Our small and vibrant independent school in Kew is seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths and Science Teacher for a full-time, ongoing position beginning in Term 1, 2025. While experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) is highly regarded, we welcome applications from Secondary School teachers with strong subject expertise and a commitment to inspiring student success.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment, delivering engaging lessons in Mathematics and Science, and contributing to our school's nurturing community.
Key duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning programs aligned with curriculum guidelines.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs and interests.
- Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to assess student progress.
- Oversee the care, welfare, and academic guidance of students in your class.
- Observe and evaluate students' performance, behaviour, and well-being, reporting concerns as necessary.
- Collaborate with other teachers to ensure consistent expectations and support.
- Develop knowledge of each student and meet with parents or carers to discuss progress.
- Instruct and monitor students in the proper use and care of equipment and materials.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Maths and Science - Graduates are welcome to apply too
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
