Our esteemed Catholic school in Toorak is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 9 Maths and Science Teacher for an ongoing role starting at the beginning of Term 3. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering dynamic and engaging lessons in Mathematics and Science, fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment aligned with our Catholic values. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing effective teaching strategies, assessing and monitoring student progress, and contributing to the development of the curriculum. Additionally, the role involves providing pastoral care, participating in school liturgies and events, and collaborating with colleagues to promote a holistic educational experience. The successful applicant will possess relevant teaching qualifications, a strong understanding of the Year 9 curriculum, and a commitment to the spiritual and academic growth of our students. Key duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning programs aligned with curriculum guidelines.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs and interests.
- Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to assess student progress.
- Oversee the care, welfare, and academic guidance of students in your class.
- Observe and evaluate students' performance, behaviour, and well-being, reporting concerns as necessary.
- Collaborate with other teachers to ensure consistent expectations and support.
- Develop knowledge of each student and meet with parents or carers to discuss progress.
- Instruct and monitor students in the proper use and care of equipment and materials.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Maths and Science - Graduates are welcome to apply too
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
