About the Role:

The school caters to secondary students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream schooling within the Melton and Brimbank areas.
As a Leading Teacher, you'll:
- Coordinate and guide staff to enhance teaching and learning practices through collaboration, coaching, and modelling best practices, as well as:
- Lead significant areas or functions within the school, contributing to curriculum improvement and achieving strategic priorities.
- Influence teaching and learning policies while ensuring effective development, provision, and evaluation of educational initiatives.
- Play a critical role in achieving school goals and priorities from the school strategic plan.
This Range 3 position offers autonomy, professional growth, and the opportunity to make a profound impact on students, staff, and the school community.
Key duties:
- Lead and manage the implementation of strategic improvement initiatives aligned with the school's strategic plan and priorities.
- Oversee staff professional growth, including team and individual development plans, mentoring, and coaching.
- Manage the development and refinement of assessment and reporting policies and practices.
- Plan and direct intervention programs, analyse learning data (e.g., PAT, YARC, Fountas & Pinnell), and develop targeted strategies to support student outcomes.
- Build staff capacity to enhance teaching practices, engagement, and student learning through evidence-based approaches.
- Lead the Disability Inclusion reforms, oversee the 3-tiered funding model, and ensure compliance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for eligible students.
- Manage school-wide discipline, implement the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework, and support teachers with escalated behaviour matters.
Skills & Experience:
- Eligibility: Hold unrestricted working rights in Australia and possess current VIT registration.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated history of leadership within educational settings.
- Data and Systems Proficiency: Strong skills in data analysis and experience with Compass or similar school management systems.
- Team Management: Proven ability to effectively manage teams within a school environment.
- Specialised Expertise: Experience with intervention programs or working with students involved in these initiatives and experience working with at risk school aged students.
- Disability Knowledge: Familiarity with current disability reforms and policies.
- Additional Needs Support: Experience working with students with additional needs is highly advantageous.
- References: Provide contact details for two education-based references within the last five years

- Salary in alignment with experience- $121k-128k
- Generalist teaching allocation (Literacy, Numeracy, skills) with time release for Leadership duties
