About the Role:

Tradewind Australia is seeking a qualified Kindergarten Teacher for a position at an Orthodox Jewish College (K-12) in Dover Heights, NSW. The college's curriculum integrates Jewish traditions, enriching the Early Learning Centre (ELC) environment through play-based learning. The ELC is closely connected with the broader school community, allowing primary and secondary students to interact and participate in activities with the younger children.

The position involves a rotating schedule: one week from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the following week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role includes four weeks of annual leave at the end of the year, an additional two weeks of leave (pro-rated for part-time employees) between February and November, as well as all Jewish holidays.


Key duties:

  • Base teaching on best theoretical and practical knowledge and knowledge of each student's development, skills and interest.
  • Identify and cater for individual learner needs, collaborating with other teachers and specialist staff in the College.
  • Provide an environment that promotes the cognitive, physical, emotional, social and intellectual wellbeing of all students.
  • Work closely with parents regarding the progress and development of their children.
  • Participate in the creation, development and evaluation of curriculum, with a focus on Jewish tradition
  • Design lesson plans and assessments that reflect a deep understanding of the content
  • Stay informed regarding current trends, teaching practices and curriculum and resource developments by remaining in contact with relevant associations and other professional networks.
  • Keep confidential records, respond to inquiries, and promote the centre professionally.
  • Actively participate in the integrated team, ensuring compliance with policies, Child Safe Standards, and the Australian Early Childhood Association Code of Ethics.


Skills & Experience:

· Bachelor of Education - Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA equivalency)

· Current NESA registration and WWCC

· Previous/current experience as a Kindergarten Teacher in Australia

· Satisfactory Police and Working with Children checks
