About the Role:
Chiamando tutti gli insegnanti italiani! (Calling all Italian teachers!) A wonderful opportunity has opened up for a passionate Italian teacher to join a highly regarded Catholic school in Cobblebank, starting from Term 4. This full-time, ongoing position involves teaching students in years 7-9 in brand-new, state-of-the-art facilities that were only opened this year. You'll be part of a supportive LOTE teaching team, with potential opportunities in 2025 to teach upper years at the school's other campus in Melton. Key duties:
- Develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for Italian LOTE.
- Deliver effective and interactive Italian language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
- Introduce aspects of Italian culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
- Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students
- Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate Italian language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
- Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.
Skills & Experience:
- Current VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Italian LOTE
- Previous experience teaching within the Catholic System advantageous
- Graduates welcome to apply
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
