About the Role:
Passionate about ICT? Work within a dedicated Secondary school setting located in Williamstown in a full-time ongoing role beginning in Term 4. Teach within a small ICT faculty, instructing students in years 7-12. Be part of a community-oriented school in Williamstown/Altona for a Term 4 contract with the possibility of extending it into 2025.

With approximately 1000 students spanning from Foundation to Year 12 across three campuses, this school offers an excellent chance to be part of a vibrant educational community. Whether you're a graduate or an experienced teacher, the school provides support, including learning coaching, and offers access to exceptional resources.

Key duties:

  • Design and deliver lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) standards, ensuring students achieve learning outcomes.
  • Teach subjects related to Information Technology (IT), including but not limited to programming, web development, databases, networking, cybersecurity, and digital technologies.
  • Identify and support students with varying learning needs, including those with learning difficulties or advanced abilities. Provide additional resources or adjust teaching methods as necessary.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in technology and education by attending professional development sessions, workshops, and conferences.
  • Manage and maintain the IT resources within the classroom, including hardware, software, and online tools. Ensure that these resources are functional and up-to-date.
  • Organize and supervise extracurricular activities such as coding clubs, robotics teams, or participation in IT-related competitions.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching ICT in a Secondary School setting
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
  • Must be ready to start 7/10/24 (Term 4).
