Job Description
Tradewind are working with a co-educational K-12 Catholic school in Marsden Park who are looking to add to their team of instructional coaches. This is a full time, permanent position which can commence in either term 4 this year or 2025 and offers an attractive 2 point paid allowance.
The aim of this role is to create a supportive and inclusive school environment that promotes all students' academic, social, and emotional development. The coach is responsible for developing, implementing, coaching and overseeing a comprehensive positive behaviour support framework within the school.
The Role
- An appropriate allocation of teaching, coaching and release applies to this role - we are ideally looking for a primary teacher to initially work within K-4, expanding to other parts of the school where necessary.
- Working side by side with teachers as individuals and in both small and large groups
- Uphold and promote the Church's mission in Catholic Education.
- Exhibit outstanding teaching practices.
- Model effective teaching, observe colleagues, provide feedback, and engage in professional discussions to improve educational practices and support positive behavior strategies.
- Design and implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) customized to the school's needs, collaborating with staff to ensure effective application.
- Use various methods to communicate with parents, teachers, and the community.
- Monitor and respond to data on student behavior and well-being, using it to identify trends and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Maintain detailed records of student support and interventions.
- Work with school leadership, counselors, teachers, support staff, and external agencies on case management and personalized behavior support plans for students.
Requirements
- The successful applicant could be expected to uphold the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at either the Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher level.
- Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
- Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
- Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references
