About the Role:


Calling all Junior Humanities educators! Tradewind has partnered with a fantastic independent girls' secondary college St Kilda, to teach Humanities to students in years 7-10. This part-time ongoing position starts of two and a half days starts asap, with the opportunity for school tours. Join a fantastic independent school committed to delivering outstanding education to students.

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Social Studies, under the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Providing clear and effective instruction to students, utilising various teaching methods and resources to facilitate learning and understanding of Humanities topics.
  • Developing and adapting curriculum materials, including textbooks, worksheets, and multimedia resources, to meet the needs of diverse learners and enhance student engagement.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success.
  • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to address disciplinary issues and promote respectful and cooperative behaviour.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and well-being. Communicating regularly with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching secondary humanities
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
