About the Role:

Are you a passionate Secondary Hindi LOTE Teacher with a deep appreciation for the language and Indian culture? Tradewind has established a partnership with an F-9 school in Tarneit, unveiling an amazing opportunity for an experienced, qualified and VIT registered teacher to spearhead a new LOTE program at the school, in response to the desires and needs of the school community. This full-time, ongoing role offers flexibility with a start date this term. You will be tasked with building and developing this innovative LOTE program in collaboration with other secondary LOTE teachers. Join us in bringing the richness of Hindi language and Indian culture to the forefront of education!

Key duties:

  • Develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for Secondary levels.
  • Deliver effective and interactive Hindi language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
  • Introduce aspects of Indian culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
  • Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students
  • Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate Hindi language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
  • Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Must have VIT registration
  • Previous experience in teaching Hindi LOTE, experience in Australia advantageous
  • Ability to build and lead this brand new LOTE program
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
