About the Role:
Are you a passionate Primary Teacher ready to inspire and lead? Tradewind is proud to partner with a community-focused Catholic Primary School in Melton, offering a full-time teaching opportunity commencing in 2025.

This role involves teaching students in junior/middle years and requires the ability to teach Religious Education, supporting the Catholic ethos and faith values of the school. With a student body of under 500, the school fosters a close-knit, connected environment where collaboration and community are at the forefront.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
  • Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
  • Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
  • Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.
  • Teach Catholic teachings, traditions, and practices in alignment with diocesan or school guidelines, and approved RE programs.
  • Foster a holistic approach by integrating Catholic values across subjects where appropriate.
  • Guide students in understanding Gospel values, Catholic traditions, and how these relate to their lives and the broader community.
  • Ensure all students, regardless of background, feel valued and supported in exploring their faith.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia
  • Experience working with a Catholic school advantageous
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
