About the Role:
An exciting full-time opportunity awaits at a close-knit Primary School in Werribee for 2025. Step into a classroom in a Middle/Upper Primary classroom and join a school celebrated for its dedication to student engagement and well being. Work within straight year levels with a dedicated learning support officer in every class. Outstanding support for new teachers and in particular graduates with one full day per week of dedicated coaching and planning time. Whether you're a seasoned educator or a new graduate, this role is your chance to make a meaningful impact in a local community.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
  • Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
  • Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
  • Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.

Skills & Experience:

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
  • Demonstrate previous experience in general Primary in Australia
  • Graduates welcome to apply and will be supported comprehensively
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

Offering:

  • Commencing in Term 1, 2025 in a full time, ongoing role
  • Working within a small team with one other teacher
  • Small class sizes of between 17-22 students
  • Choice of lower/middle Primary or Senior classes
  • One full day off of teaching for Graduates to learn, be coached and work on VIT Inquiry project
  • Salary commensurate with demonstrated expertise and time commitment
