A faith-based school in Lilydale is seeking a passionate and dedicated English and Humanities Teacher to join their supportive team starting at the beginning of Term 1, 2025. The role involves teaching students from Years 7-10, delivering engaging lessons that foster critical thinking, communication skills, and a values-driven learning environment. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering curriculum-aligned lessons, assessing and reporting on student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance educational outcomes. Strong communication skills, a passion for English and Humanities, and a commitment to holistic education are essential, with experience in faith-based settings highly regarded. Key Duties:
- Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligning with the curriculum.
- Evaluate and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community service projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
- Promote a deep understanding and appreciation of geography and history.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience as an English and Humanities Teacher - Graduates are welcome to apply too!
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
