About the Role:
We are recruiting for a dynamic early childhood educator for roles across the City of Port Phillip area. The ideal candidate will oversee high-quality education and care in a centre-based setting, planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate programs.
Key duties:
- Demonstrate a proven capacity to assist in the delivery of quality early childhood programs and support best practice.
- Display a high level of experience independently supporting and supervising children/students.
- Display an ability to record observations to support the development of the program and e-learning reports.
- Demonstrate significant experience in the implementation of programs that support the movement of children/students between indoor and outdoor environments.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the requirements to support the preparation, general cleaning duties and safety of the learning environment.
- Demonstrate an ability to work as part of, and contribute to, a committed team of educators.
- Demonstrate commitment to on-going professional learning and a proven capacity to apply knowledge within the early learning setting.
- Display a high level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to children, students, parents and work colleagues.
- Demonstrate proactive contributions to early years' programs.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator and Senior Educator for performance discussions and comply with legislative requirements.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs based on the National Quality Framework, ensuring clear objectives and family discussions.
- Reflect on practice techniques, maintain inclusive environments, and establish effective partnerships with families and the community.
- Keep confidential records, respond to inquiries, and promote the centre professionally.
- Actively participate in the integrated team, ensuring compliance with policies, Child Safe Standards, and the Australian Early Childhood Association Code of Ethics.
Skills & Experience:
- Fully completed Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Previous experience as an Early Childhood Educator/Coordinator
- Current level 2 First Aid Certificate and Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificate
- Satisfactory Police and Working with Children checks
- Knowledge of National Regulations, NQF, VEYLD and EYLF, Child Safe Standards
